Before using keyword take some time out to research on the keywords as you don’t want to use keywords that have being used by so many sites, this challenge can be tackled by adding other word for example if you want to use ‘advertising’ as your keyword, you will find that the keyword ‘advertising’ is being used by over 86,000,000 sites (just an example cause I believe it is far more than this) so you stand to compete with more than 86,000,000 sites that might have already being in the business longer than you.
What you could do to improve your keywords is to use something narrowing that keyword to your products or services e.g. ‘digital advertising’, ‘screen advertising’, ‘events advertising’ or even three words phrase.
Many sites use keywords that don’t relate to what they do, this might result in a poor page ranking but, the down side is that people might be misguided to your site and as soon as they see that it has nothing to do with what they are after within seconds they are out and will never return to your site again as people.
The whole idea of online advertising is to attract as many visitors to your site and once they are in your site interest them with whatever services you offer and convert the clicks into sales to generate revenue.
The question is ‘what is the average time that people spend on your site, what page on your site attract the most hit? what is the conversion rate of your site? if the answers to these questions seem very positive then you are on the right track to getting the best out of online advertising.
